Full Disclosure: The Monthly Money Promise
Hi there, I’m Tony, your Monthly Money Man.
I’m thrilled that you’re here, decisive and ready to start your Ascent to financial clarity. My commitment to you is to provide the clearest, most actionable financial education available for professionals facing the Dual Ascent (college and retirement savings).
To keep the path clear and the foundation secure, here is the full disclosure on how Monthly Money operates.
1. Education vs. Advice (The Most Important Note)
- I am an Educator, Not an Advisor: My background includes over 20 years of studying finance, and six years as a professional financial advisor. However, I am no longer acting in the capacity of a financial advisor or wealth manager.
- Monthly Money is a Financial Education Resource: This blog, the articles, guides, tools, and all associated content are for informational and educational purposes only. I built this resource to empower you with knowledge.
- Not Personalized Advice: I do not provide personalized investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice. I cannot and will not tell you which specific stocks, funds, or products to buy for your personal situation.
- Your Action is Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for all financial decisions you make. Please consult with a licensed professional (like a fiduciary financial advisor, tax accountant, or estate lawyer) who can review your specific situation before implementing major financial changes.
2. Investment Risk & Performance
Financial markets involve risk, and there is no guarantee of future results.
I talk a lot about the power of compounding wealth over time. The fundamental formula for future value is:
$$FV = PV \left(1 + \frac{r}{n}\right)^{nt}$$
Where FV is the future value, PV is the present value, r is the annual interest rate, n is the number of times interest is compounded per period, and t is the time in years. This formula demonstrates the incredible power of time and consistent action. But remember: past performance is not indicative of future results. Every investment carries risk.
3. Transparency & Affiliates
To keep the lights on and the content flowing, Monthly Money may, at times, use affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase or sign up for a service.
- My Promise: I will only recommend products, services, or books that I personally use, have vetted, or genuinely believe will provide high value to an “Ascender” on their financial journey. My commitment is always to your clarity and success, first and foremost.
My goal is to be the honest, relatable guide I wish I had almost 30 years ago. Thank you for trusting me as your Monthly Money Man.
